Nearly all of the work in Play Your Part is gathered through open invitation. There is no age restriction. All works must address the question: what does reconciliation mean to you?

Once you choose to submit your work to Play Your Part we will choose which works will be exhibited. Sometimes we may also invite individual artists or musicians or poets or filmmakers to contribute their work.

We’ll let you know by email within 30 days of receiving your submission whether it has been selected. In the event that your work is not selected we will contact you.

We don’t pay for the use of your work. Reconciliation Australia is a charity and the purpose of Play Your Part is to showcase your talent to as many people as we can and to promote reconciliation.

You do. When you submit your work to Play Your Part you agree to give Reconciliation Australia the right to use your work in the context of its use on this part of the site, and also for any marketing or promotional activities.

We invite you to submit as many works as you want across all the categories BUT you must make sure your submissions fit the individual categories as we don’t accept the one work across multiple categories.

Play Your Part is a public space that showcases creative responses to the question: what does reconciliation mean to you? Our aim is to publish all works that deal with this question.

However, those works which are racist, sexist, profane ( swear words ), demeaning or just plain silly will be rejected. When you submit your work to us it does not automatically go online until someone from reconcile.org.au/playyourpart reviews it.

Copyright : Copyright in all works submitted to PLAY YOUR PART remains with the copyright owner. In submitting your work/s you are granting RECONCILIATION AUSTRALIA a non-exclusive license in perpetuity to exhibit your work/s as part of PLAY YOUR PART and any promotional or archival purposes related to the reconcile.org.au/playyourpart website.

Exhibiting Works : RECONCILIATION AUSTRALIA retains the right at its sole discretion to exhibit/ publish submissions on its website or elsewhere in the media. RECONCILIATION AUSTRALIA reserves the right not to publish all works submitted to PLAY YOUR PART.

Contacting You : Provided that you supply us with a correct and current email address we will endeavour to contact everyone who submits to PLAY YOUR PART with an acknowledgement letting you know if we have selected your works for publication or not.

Submitting Works : We have designed a special online submission system to help you submit your work/s to PLAY YOUR PART. Your work will be reviewed by RECONCILIATION AUSTRALIA before it is published. The Review will take up to 30 days depending on the volume of submissions we receive.

Deleting Works : Works published on PLAY YOUR PART will only be deleted by RECONCILIATON AUSTRALIA. If you want your work removed from PLAY YOUR PART you will need to send us an email.
